In response to an article in The Philippine Reporter : “The Deprofessionalized Filipino”, January 2, 2009 (Explaining Specifically Filipino Experiences of Employment in Toronto). see:http://www.philippinereporter.com/2009/01/02/the-deprofessionalized-filipino/

Extremely difficult situations make for much better individuals (professionals in this case). De-skilling is an opportunity for people to reinvent themselves and recreate to become better professionals. This is why as a Career Coach; I promote the process of creative reshaping of careers. Newcomers can discover so much about themselves and options they would not have considered back home or in the past had they not been tested by their situation here. The problems and challenges allow them to stretch themselves to the limits and realize their unknown potentials.
